I decided to write here the step-by-step instructions because couple of times I needed it and forgot the exact combination.
My previous mobile operators I had (Orange Romania, Vodafone Czech Republic, ….) offer a better support for the English speakers. When you call the most common services (voicemail, customer service help) you have the option to chose the English language from the begging of the call – the “For English press 2” (robot voice).
Well, if you are a T-Mobile (Germany) customer and is your first time when you call the common service numbers … kein Englisch 🙂 . This step-by-step is definitely good for the foreigners, or tourists whom for various reasons will use a T-Mobile SIM card.
Step by step.
- Call 3311 (this is the voice mail number) and wait until the German announcement stops.
- Press 3 and wait to finish to mention all the options (still talking to you in German).
- Press 4 and wait to finish to mention all the options (still talking to you in German).
- Press 1 and wait to finish to mention all the options (still talking to you in German).
- Press * (star).
Done!
You have changed. My. Life. Thank you!
You are the bees knees !!!! ?
AMAZING. Thanks!
Instructions still work. Thank you!!!
This did help me too!! Thanks for the pointers – they still work!

OMFG THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!
Multumesc, Esti un domn
You are my hero! Worked perfectly
Awesome man thanks!
Absolutely speechless… your instructions worked like a charm
This did not work for my from my Telekom home phone. It dialed an operator. Who also didn’t know how to do this.
Instructions still work. However, you can rapid through them without waiting for announcements to end. As soon as the voicemail answers type 341* quickly and it should tell you the language has been changed to english.
This still works in 2020 too. Thanks so much!
Thank you!! You are a lifesaver. Patrick – your option worked like charm too!
Thank you so much. Makes it so much easier.
